Hernando Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 30-17 to the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes. On the bright side, the 17- run performance marked the Lions' highest-scoring contest to date.

Hernando Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Piper Gill, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Lalane, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.

Hernando Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Hernando Christian Academy will venture away from home to face off against Real Life Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Raptors have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight games. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-3 win against Anclote on the 2nd.
