Baseball Game Preview: John Paul the Great Academy Guardians vs. Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots

The John Paul the Great Academy Guardians will take on the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. John Paul the Great Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, John Paul the Great Academy got the win against First Baptist Christian by a conclusive 18-2. The Guardians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Angelle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Andrew Guidry, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Christian Home Educators Fellowship earned a 7-3 victory over Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool on Thursday.

Luke Babin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Babin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Christian Home Educators Fellowship's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Taylor, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hudson Champlin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for John Paul the Great Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
