Baseball Recap: Milford Gets the Win

Milford won the last time they faced Natick and things went their way on Friday too. The Scarlet Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Redhawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scarlet Hawks.

Tyler Ballard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Ballard wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Derek Marcolini, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Natick, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will host Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Natick, they will square off against Walpole at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
