Baseball Recap: Tyler Morgan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. John Paul II Academy

Taravella picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They came out on top against the St. John Paul II Academy Eagles by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Michael Ghann spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Taravella's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Morgan, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Taravella's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5-1 record this season.

Taravella will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taravella's pitchers better be ready for this one: Calvary Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they will take on American Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
