Basketball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Liberty-Salem Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jets of the 68-48 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for West Liberty-Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Northeastern will square off against West Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for West Liberty-Salem, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-23 loss against Jackson Center on the 4th.
