Mount Pleasant scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Carson Cougars by a score of 47-44. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 34-27.

Carson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julia Burleson, who posted 19 points and four steals. Those 19 points gave Burleson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Carpenter, who had ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount Pleasant and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Carson, their record is now 2-7.

Mount Pleasant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-39 victory against North Rowan on the 27th. As for Carson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-29 loss against Salisbury on the 27th.
