Chester waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eau Claire Shamrocks 41-8. The Cyclones' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Chester's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jakobe Starks-Wright, who rushed for 75 yards and one score on only six carries. Darriyarn Baxley was in the mix too, providing the Cyclones with one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 202 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chester's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Terry Radford and Caleb Feaster, who racked up five sacks between them. Chester received some extra help from Baxley, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Chester now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Eau Claire, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Coincidentally, Chester and Eau Claire will both be playing Fairfield Central the next time they take the field. The Cyclones will host the Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Shamrocks will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
