Volleyball Recap: Walthill Takes a Loss

Walthill extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-8. They fell 2-0 to the Winnebago Indians. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last eight times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Avalee Sheridan paced Walthill's offense, picking up three kills. Sheridan got some help from Nicomi Frazier and her seven assists.

As for Winnebago, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7. They haven't had any issues with Walthill recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Winnebago's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javianna Chavez, who had six aces. Those six aces gave Chavez a new career-high. Miliani Bass also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Walthill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Randolph on the 23rd. As for Winnebago, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Santee on the 20th.
