On Friday, Norris faced Gretna East in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Norris Titans had just enough and edged the Gretna East Griffins out 54-51. The win was familiar territory for the Titans who have now won nine games in a row.

Norris was led to victory by Chris Garner Jr. and Barret Boesiger. Garner Jr. went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points, while Boesiger went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macoy Folkerts, who posted nine points.

Gretna East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jake Hawley, who went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Talan Hovie was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven assists.

Norris pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Gretna East, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norris will host Blair at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Gretna East, they will welcome Elkhorn North at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
