Basketball Recap: Edgewood's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Edgewood lost against Indian Creek back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Edgewood Mustangs took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Creek Braves.

When it comes to explaining why Edgewood lost, don't look at Macey Crider. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Crider is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Laroche, who posted seven points.

Indian Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasmine Day led the charge by putting up five points in addition to ten rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Oliver, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Edgewood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Indian Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Edgewood will take on Mt. Vernon in a tournament on Friday. Edgewood is facing Mt. Vernon at the right time seeing as Mt. Vernon is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Indian Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-27 win against North Putnam on the 21st.
