Basketball Recap: Veritas Academy Takes a Loss

If Veritas Academy was feeling good fresh off their 46-19 takedown of Concordia last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Veritas Academy came up short against the Vanguard College Prep Vikings on Tuesday, falling 52-28. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Veritas Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-33 on January 9th.

Veritas Academy dropped their record down to 13-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Vanguard College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veritas Academy will face off against Brazos Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Vanguard College Prep, they will square off against Texas School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vanguard College Prep will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
