Baseball Recap: Spanish Fork's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Spanish Fork had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Wasatch Wasps on Tuesday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dons have posted since March 19, 2024.

Spanish Fork saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nixon Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. Xavier Amonett also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Spanish Fork's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Wasatch, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanish Fork will square off against Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Dons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wasatch, they will challenge Timpview at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wasps are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
