Football Recap: Catholic Rockets vs. El Dorado Wildcats
Catholic extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They took a hard 49-31 fall against the El Dorado Wildcats. Even if the Rockets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.
Despite the loss, Catholic still got an impressive performance from Phillips Blair, who rushed for 55 yards and two scores, and also threw for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes. Ben Gassaway was another key player, picking up 125 receiving yards and one TD.
As for El Dorado, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games.
El Dorado was led to victory by Cannon Jacobs and Jeremy Samuel. Jacobs rushed for 92 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, while Samuel rushed for 203 yards and one score while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.
