Baseball Recap: Chandler Comes Up Short at Home Against O'connor

Chandler unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the O'Connor Eagles on Wednesday, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered since February 22, 2024.

Chandler got a good showing from Zhaid Diaz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Diaz has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Thomas Bass made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Looking ahead, Chandler will be taking part in a tournament against Mesquite at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for O'Connor, they will take on Saguaro in a tournament on Thursday.
