Softball Recap: River Valley Panthers vs. Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers
River Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-3 to make it four. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hilltoppers from their previous meeting back in May of 2022.
Callie Reaugh led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilian Buckles, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
As for Westmont Hilltop, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.
On Westmont Hilltop's side, the team relied heavily on Bella Kist, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Kist a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lamya Stevens, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither River Valley nor Westmont Hilltop have any future games scheduled.
