Baseball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. West Union Eagles

Wheeler is 0-4 against West Union since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. Wheeler will take on West Union at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wheeler is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 16-5 to Belmont.

Wheeler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peirce Spencer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Spencer has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-13 otherwise.

Meanwhile, West Union came up short against East Union on Saturday, falling 10-4. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly six runs.

Jon Grey Morrisson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Jaxon Herod was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for West Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Wheeler might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from West Union in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Wheeler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
