Baseball Recap: Skaneateles' Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Skaneateles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix Firebirds. If the Lakers were looking for revenge after losing 9-4 to the Firebirds when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nathan Latreille spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Skaneateles saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hugh Carroll, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Shea Musso was another, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Skaneateles' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Phoenix, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

While Skaneateles had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
