Basketball Recap: Alivia Mason Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Blacksher

Calhoun won the last time they faced Blacksher and things went their way on Thursday too. The Calhoun Tigers took down the Blacksher Bulldogs 42-28. The Tigers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Calhoun got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alivia Mason out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave Mason a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Mariah Champion, who went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and five steals.

Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Blacksher, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-55 defeat against Highland Home on the 17th. As for Blacksher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-34 victory against Central on the 17th.
