The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will head out to challenge the Harpeth Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Battle Ground Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Battle Ground Academy duked it out with Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Lions. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Khloe Burton made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Battle Ground Academy got a massive performance out of Ella Fruechtemeyer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Fruechtemeyer a new career-high in doubles (two). Eily Wolfe also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Battle Ground Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian Academy only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Harpeth ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past East Hickman County 6-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Taylor Riley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Cameron Hayes was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndall Threet, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-7-1. As for Battle Ground Academy, their record now sits at 11-9.
Harpeth's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Battle Ground Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Harpeth, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Battle Ground Academy's hitters?
Battle Ground Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Harpeth in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
