Baseball Game Preview: Delavan-Darien Comets vs. Lakeside Lutheran Warriors

The Delavan-Darien Comets will challenge the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Delavan-Darien took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Wilmot 10-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Joel Janssen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Danny O'Grady, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, Lakeside Lutheran made easy work of Living Word Lutheran on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 win.

Lakeside Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Delavan-Darien, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-9-1.
