Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. United

The Springfield Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the United Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Springfield's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against LaBrae as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Springfield haven't had any issues with LaBrae recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for United, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Rootstown with a sharp 4-0 victory on Monday. Considering United's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Rootstown with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ellianna Powers (2), Kiley Hetherington, and Natalie Shipley.

United's win bumped their record up to 8-6-2. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1.

Springfield beat United 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
