Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell County Eagles vs. Terrell County Greenwave

The Mitchell County Eagles will square off against the Terrell County Greenwave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mitchell County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pelham just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Hornets and fell 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Hornets are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Terrell County came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Patriots. The 35-point effort marked the Greenwave's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Terrell County's win came from a few key players that Mitchell County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ceailaja Samuel, who posted 16 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chassidy Franklin, who earned eight points.

Terrell County's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Mitchell County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
