Volleyball Recap: Vanden Gets the Win

Vanden won the last time they faced Sonoma Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Dragons.

Vanden's offense was headlined by Tosh Evangelista and Ifeanyi Onwuazombe, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Tavas Spencer and his 22 assists. Evangelista was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Vanden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for Sonoma Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Vanden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Liberty on the 12th. As for Sonoma Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ukiah at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
