Softball Recap: Moundridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Marion on Tuesday, Moundridge came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans on Friday, falling 14-2. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Moundridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aspyn Stos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Moundridge's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2.

Coming up, Moundridge will square off against Skyline at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.2 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. Cedar Vale/Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
