Softball Recap: Kingman Bulldogs vs. Chino Valley Cougars
If Kingman was riding high fresh off their 22-4 takedown of Odyssey Institute last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kingman fell just short of the Chino Valley Cougars by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Destiny Hartley was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Hartley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kali Hoyt, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Kingman's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Chino Valley, they moved to 6-7 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
