Providence School is 3-0 against Fleming Island since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Providence School will head into Tuesday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Impact Christian Academy and fell 73-46. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Lions are ranked 36th).

Despite the loss, Providence School saw an underclassman step up: freshman William Stewart dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for Stewart. Another player making a difference was Ryan Gornto, who posted 13 points.
Meanwhile, Fleming Island entered their tilt with Mainland on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 71-66 win over the Buccaneers.
Fleming Island's win came from a few key players Providence School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Baskin, who scored seven points in addition to eight steals and seven assists.
Fleming Island smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Fleming Island has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Providence School, they dropped their record down to 12-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Providence School has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Fleming Island struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Providence School against Fleming Island in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the squad secured a 63-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
