Football Game Preview: Polo Marcos vs. South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies

The Polo Marcos will challenge the South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Polo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Anne 46-14. The win was familiar territory for the Marcos, who have now won seven games in a row.

Meanwhile, South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville faced West Carroll in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Ponies put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 38-14 victory.

Polo better keep an eye on George Bailey. He was instrumental in South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's win, rushing for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Bailey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making four total tackles, and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Brodey Vanhooser, who rushed for 53 yards.

South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brody Lush.
