Basketball Recap: Lake View Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Lake View was the 48-41 winner over Carvers Bay when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake View Wild Gators were beaten by the Carvers Bay Bears 50-12 on Tuesday. The Wild Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Leading Carvers Bay to victory were D'Essence Graham and Erykah Brown. Graham went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals, while Brown posted 12 points along with six boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Graham is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyn Jenkins, who put up ten points.

Lake View's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Carvers Bay, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Lake View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-12 loss against Latta on the 9th. As for Carvers Bay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-8 win against Hemingway on the 9th.
