Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 43-30 to the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-22 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Hilton Head Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sissy Thompson posted six points along with 14 boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Thompson a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Sophia Blackwell, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Laurence Manning Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.

Hilton Head Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-30 defeat against Trinity Collegiate on the 1st. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will face off against John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
