Nardin Academy had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Mount St. Mary Academy Thunder 5-3. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunder, too.

Madison Scarpace was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kara Krupski, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Mount St. Mary Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly two runs.

On Mount St. Mary Academy's side, Molly Reynolds was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Reynolds' first of the season.
