Bath County is 0-10 against Pendleton County since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Chargers will face off against the Wildcat at 6:30 p.m. Bath County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

While Bath County's victory against Parry McCluer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Fighting Blues 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bath County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was O Perdue, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Pendleton County was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tygarts Valley. The Wildcat haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Bath County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pendleton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bath County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pendleton County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Bath County couldn't quite get it done against Pendleton County in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 11-6. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
