Preview: Harford Tech Cobras vs. Elkton Golden Elks

The Harford Tech Cobras will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elkton Golden Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The critical scores for Harford Tech came from Shamari Whitmore and Troy Wallace jr.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Elkton walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 54-14 win over Chesapeake at home. The result was nothing new for Elkton, who have now won three matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Josh Brill had a dynamite game for Elkton, rushing for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also picking up 56 receiving yards. Brill was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Solomon Pope was another key contributor, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Another reason for the win was Elkton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Tyree Brown was the leader with two sacks.

Harford Tech is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Elkton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Harford Tech skirted past Elkton 27-25 in their previous matchup back in September. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Elkton's Pope, who rushed for 181 yards on only 13 carries.
