Volleyball Recap: Lodi Academy Falls to Vanguard College Prep in First Game of Season

Lodi Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Vanguard College Prep Lions on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-9, 25-8.

Jocelyn Torres had an outrageously good game for Vanguard College Prep as she had 12 aces and three assists. That's the most aces Torres has posted since back in September of 2024.

Vanguard College Prep has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Lodi Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tioga at 5:00 p.m. on September 11. As for Vanguard College Prep, they will square off against Elliot Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
