Cross waltzed into their contest on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Stingrays: when they faced off against the Warriors back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Cross found their leader in sophomore Faith Gordon, who had eight digs and two aces.

Cross was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Andrew Jackson Academy still got an impressive performance from McKinnley Beard, who had 19 kills, eight digs, five blocks, and five aces. Beard is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Carrigg, who had 32 assists and three digs.

Cross' victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, with the loss, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 26-8.

Cross didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Oakbrook Prep on the 24th. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Charleston Collegiate on the 24th.
