Basketball Recap: Hickman County Falcons vs. Carlisle County Comets
The Hickman County Falcons lost against the Carlisle County Comets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Hickman County was outmatched by the Comets on the road and fell 67-26. Hickman County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carlisle County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenton Arnold, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Arnold is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Burnett, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Hickman County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Carlisle County, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Hickman County is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Dawson Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Carlisle County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Community Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Comets are ranked 133rd).
