Football Recap: Brenham Takes Down Liberty Hill in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Brenham had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Liberty Hill Panthers on Friday, sneaking past 27-24. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of Brenham's win came down to the chemistry between Xyran Upshaw and his top target Cartelle Brown. Upshaw threw for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Brown gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Upshaw racked up 85 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September.

Brenham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trelyn Kelly and Ledrick Walker Jr. Brenham got some further help from Kristian Prosper: he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory (which was Brenham's third in a row) raised their record to 11-1. As for Liberty Hill, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Brenham will challenge Iowa Colony at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cubs will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Liberty Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
