Volleyball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison
Thomas Jefferson lost against Vista PEAK Prep back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. The shutout was out of character for the Spartans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.
Reese Myers paced Thomas Jefferson's offense, picking up ten kills. Myers got some help from Ellie Huntsman and her 11 assists. Huntsman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Yasir Dickey was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 32 digs and one assist. Those 32 digs gave her a new career-high.
Thomas Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Vista PEAK Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 16-7.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Thomas Jefferson and Fort Lupton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Bluedevils at the right time seeing as the Bluedevils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Rampart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
