Preview: Patriot Pioneers vs. Freedom Eagles
Patriot and Freedom are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Patriot Pioneers will be playing at home against the Freedom Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Patriot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Patriot's game was all tied up 33-33 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Osbourn with a 59-54 win. The win was just what Patriot needed coming off of a 60-26 defeat in their prior match.
Ella Negron was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne Sweeney, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Freedom were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were beaten by Osbourn Park 52-16. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Freedom in their matchups with Osbourn Park: they've now lost eight in a row.
Patriot's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
