Soccer Recap: Smithfield Comes Up Short

Smithfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warhill Lions. That's two games in a row now that Smithfield have lost by just one goal.

Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Warhill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3-1.

Looking ahead, Smithfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Churchland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smithfield's defense better be ready for this one: Churchland have averaged an impressive 3.6 goals per game this season. As for Warhill, they will head out on the road to square off against Denbigh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
