Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Comes Up Short

Patrick Henry and Bonita Vista squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Patrick Henry had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Bonita Vista Barons and fell 73-35. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Despite the loss, Patrick Henry still got an impressive performance from Alexander Newlands, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards.

Bonita Vista was led to victory by Aaron Owens and Jerry Stokes. Owens posted 25 points, while Stokes put up 22 points. The contest was Owens' eighth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Treyvon Davis, who earned eight points.

Patrick Henry has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for Bonita Vista, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-8.

Patrick Henry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bonita Vista, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Bonita Vista likes a good challenge.
