Basketball Game Preview: Waukegan Bulldogs vs. Lake Zurich Bears

Waukegan hasn't had much luck against Lake Zurich recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Waukegan Bulldogs will challenge the Lake Zurich Bears at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Waukegan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

On Monday, Waukegan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-61 to Lanphier.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich strolled past Palatine with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 54-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Lake Zurich is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Waukegan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Waukegan was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Zurich in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 59-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waukegan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
