Baseball Recap: Checotah Comes Up Short

Checotah fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Victory Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Conquerors by a score of 5-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Conquerors: they've now lost five in a row.

Cale Thompson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Checotah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Victory Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

While Checotah had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
