Softball Recap: Lake Nona Triumphs

After losing to Innovation the last time they met, Lake Nona decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions skirted past the Bulls 11-10.

Campbell Walker was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Valeria Rivera was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

The win got Lake Nona back to even at 6-6. As for Innovation, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Nona will take on Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grenadiers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.89 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Innovation, they will face off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
