Softball Game Preview: Oak Hill Red Devils vs. Princeton Tigers

The Oak Hill Red Devils will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Princeton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hill will be strutting in after a victory while Princeton will be coming in after a loss.

Oak Hill is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Richwood. Oak Hill blew past Richwood 14-1 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Sadie Branch, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Hollandsworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Princeton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 10-0 to Riverside on Wednesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Oak Hill might still be hurting after the 17-2 defeat they got from Princeton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Oak Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
