Softball Recap: Marina Takes a Loss

Marina extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-7 in the process. They came up short against the Soledad Aztecs, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 last Wednesday.

As for Soledad, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Soledad's part, Delylah Ocampo was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Esparza, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Marina will welcome Anzar at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Soledad, they are taking a road trip to take on Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aztecs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season.
