Volleyball Recap: Victory Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

Victory Baptist Academy was the 2-0 winner over Lighthouse Baptist Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Ambassadors by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ambassadors 25-20 in the first set.

Victory Baptist Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 16-14.

Lily Stovall paced Victory Baptist Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Stovall got some help from Sophie Cantu and her nine assists. Finally, Stovall was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Victory Baptist Academy and nudges their season record down to 15-10. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Victory Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Arlington Baptist on the 3rd. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Franklin Road Christian on the 3rd.
