Baseball Game Preview: Thornwell Saints vs. Dixie Hornets

Thornwell is 0-4 against Dixie since March of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Saints will host the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thornwell couldn't beat Ware Shoals on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Saints came up short against the Hornets, falling 15-7.

Logan James made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Trumari Kinard Shelton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Dixie and Greenwood Christian meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Hornets lost 11-5 to the Hawks.

Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Thornwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
