Soccer Game Preview: Righetti vs. Paso Robles

The Righetti Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Paso Robles Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Righetti is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Righetti will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Santa Maria, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Righetti came out on top against Santa Maria by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit Santa Maria with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mark Pulido, Nery Saguilan, and Jonathan Martinez.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Paso Robles was not quite Pioneer Valley's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Panthers are ranked 144th).

Paso Robles now has a losing record at 9-10-1. As for Righetti, their win bumped their record up to 16-4-4.

Righetti beat Paso Robles by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Righetti since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
