Softball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

The Tipton Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Hill took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tipton, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Tipton turned things around against Heritage Christian on Thursday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-4.

Ella Lobeck made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makenna Comer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Cora Braun was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Oak Hill's offense. They lost 11-0 to Frankton on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Tipton's record now sits at 4-8. As for Oak Hill, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Tipton might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Oak Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
