            The Lockport Porters will take on the Ventura Cougars in a tournament  on Wednesday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Ventura will be up against a hot Lockport  team: the  squad just extended their winning streak to five. Lockport came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   4-3 W against George Washington. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Porters have posted  since May 6, 2024.
 Matt Fox looked comfortable as he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits.

 On the hitting side,  Wylan Nelson was  incredible,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with one  home run, four  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Carter Kimble, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Ventura  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Ventura has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5-1 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.2 runs over those games. Lockport's win was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 2-0.
